Part of a fresco

Part of a fresco
As we go
Back up a river
Eventually off color
And surfaces
Afar more modest
Imposition
A mere technique
Distinct through
Stained glass
Or from projections
Blown hot
And then cooled

There is no essential
Different between
Sand and its times

It dawned on me

It dawned on me
The artistic limit
At first stand-alone
Reminds one
After math
Of a hurricane
Speaking clung to
Systematically

Steps in triangles

Steps in triangles
Circle down
Spring spillway
Soul in mid-shower
Quietly sings,
‘With this turning
I thee wind’
Brambles on
The aqueduct

Three new- erected

Three new- erected
Red and white towers
On point
In the swamp
Broadcast faded
My boots sucking, silted
Just past the toll
Of a remote balance
No tender-passing hands

I got up grateful

I got up grateful
For my feet
Forsaken years
Subservient
Firm beneath
My awkward frame
Which tilts a way
Down pounded streets
Slicked for wheels
Not measuring
Unlike my ruling
Heels and toes

This way

This way
Imperfect Eden
Ravaged
Of its summer fruit
Bunkered and abandoned
Steals a life where
Life’s been thrown

Heaps of restless refuse
No longer banked
In self-storage
Nor prey to hock
Work silent
As invisible worms
Bankrupting the frames
Of these churches same
That worship
Ecstasies of comfort
In throes of magic death

Still the fog washes
The wild rose hip

Redwood heart
Still weeps its amber
Immemorial, casting
Insect life

Fails don’t leave me

Fails don’t leave me
Speechless

What happens
If you scream
Out your window
At the night

I’ve heard
Snoring can be fatal

Allergic to friction

Allergic to friction
The past hasn’t meant
Everything to you
As only in present
You might recluse
Seamless, integral

Dusty djin
Clean out
Your painted corner
This cage of ribs
You’ve hung on
Too long
Displacing breath
And blood

A seeming
Eternal ligament
Has snapped
Releasing muscle
From deadening chalk

Apart of

Apart of
The Milky Way
From my study
Of desktop
Ending up
A whole pile
Of ghost notes
The secret charm
Of which I am at
Once removed
Dark matter

Wherever I see

Wherever I see
Great books found
Becoming partisan
To method first
At issue
Is not upon
Opening
What I have now
That passage
Rewritten
