A very huge and flightless bird


A very huge and flightless bird
Scavenged here not long ago
Compared with larks of pioneers
It fled with just vestigial wings

And when a starling interval
Replaced the larks of pioneers
The prairie called for scavengers
To find the huge and flightless thing.
